This is the second piece in a series of Piano Quartets that was made possible due to a scholarship from Förderverein für Kunst, Medien und Forschung e.V.The title is a play of words that has a rather technical origin. The main theme of the piece overwhelmingly consists of the pentatonic scale, but throughout the piece we get these little sprinkles from all kinds of scales and modes that somewhat surprise us due to their erupting nature. Theres also alot of harmony involved that alleviates some of the dullnes and pretictability of the pentatonic scale, sometimes the chords are straight from the pentatonic scale but sometimes its also borrowing chord tones from other scales and modes.
